  1. Working For Carers

    Welcome to the first monthly edition of the Working for Carers - Harrow Carers Hub newsletter. Our aim is to link our participants, partners and business contacts together and provide information regarding new job opportunities, volunteering, and education/training plus much much more.

    Budget has been allocated to all Working for Carers partners to support employability work with carers in their borough/s.

    Four hub partners have a lead role in organising Working for Carers activities:

    Camden Carers Service; Harrow Carers: Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Enfield, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harringey, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow; Carers Lewisham; Redbridge Carers Support Service.

    Each hub partner has a Working for Carers Project Manager and between two and three Employment Personal Advisors (EPA). The hub teams will work with each partner to develop activities in their area. Activities will include one-to-one support for carers with the EPAs and workshops and/or group sessions.

    In addition, the project offers added value to partners' work with carers by providing:

    • Expert support offered to carers (aged 25+) around employability and job-seeking;
    • Free access to one-to-one support, information and advice, and workshops/group sessions for carers who want to return to the workplace.
    • Access to free replacement care, childcare, travel costs and other expenses that will support their involvement in the project.
    • Links with London-based employers and training providers.
