Dolphin Court in Thorpe Bay, is a residential home for working aged adults (18-65 years) with physical impairments and specialist care needs associated with disability.

The home is purpose-built for people who use wheelchairs, with extra-wide corridors and huge self-contained flats whereby most have sea views. Each flat consists of a bedroom, sitting room, kitchenette, television, phone point and an ensuite wet room plus WC.

Flats are highly individual as décor is completed to your specification prior to moving in, with adaptions to improve mobility and safety. There are large communal spaces including a summer house with a patio and outdoor seating, a private car park, a quiet room with an accessible computer, an industrial kitchen and a huge dining area.

Supporting you: Dolphin Court is a perfect setting for you to lead a more independent life with options of joining others for group activities and the use of the on-site mini bus. There is a wheelchair accessible route to town along the scenic seafront.

Your support plan is person-centred, tailored around you and your aspirations, building on your strengths with every aspect agreed by you. We are an enabling staff team fully trained to give you the support you need to lead a healthier, happier and fulfilling life.

Our Lifestyles Co-ordinator works with residents arranging individualised timetables including group days out and joining other organizations for greater community participation. There is always the opportunity to try something new or maintain a hobby and enhance skills. Staff will assist you to keep active, pursue your interests within a creative and positive environment, and gain volunteer work or a meaningful job.

A key focus at Dolphin Court is continuity of care and flexible support, for you to be your own person and gain greater independence as this means to you. Let us work with you to find solutions.

Residents are actively involved in strategic decisions concerning their home and are valued contributors to the recruitment, on-going training and appraisal of staff.

Family and friends are welcomed to visit you at any time, and when required, there is a guest room available.
