Oakmont Social Education aims to provide an environment where our service users are able to enjoy an excellent quality of life. Through support, development plans, therapeutic and educational sessions we strive to develop our service user’s access to opportunities, such as work experience, employment and independent living.
We also have a strong belief in the benefits of a holistic approach to healthy living. With an innovative programme of sports and leisure Oakmont social education strives to offer a fulfilling and enjoyable lifestyle.
Work, learn and live. We promote and support an active lifestyle for our service users.
Our service is for people with learning difficulties and autistic disorder. We provide a social education and day centre service for adults aged 18-65. At Oakmont Social Education we believe providing services for our communities most vulnerable is the cornerstone of a functional society, it is for this reason we specialise in working with service users who require the highest levels of support due to challenging behaviours and learning difficulties. We specialise in conflict management, behaviour planning and risk assessments.
Our intensive support and behavioural expertise along with our innovative day programme allows us to offer our service to clients with high levels of need who may have struggled in previous settings such as colleges or with carers.
Our service users will have access to independent living skills education, accredited courses (including sports qualifications) and community activities. We will work with our service users to develop social and interpersonal skills with a view to progress to employment and independent living.
Equal opportunities, empowerment and actualisation are the values that underpin our service. This is achieved through an innovative and structured day aimed at the individual service user for their development and progression.
