Level 2 Childcare
This nationally-recognised qualification is valued by employers looking for nursery staff and while training you get hands-on practical work experience at the same time. It will develop your personal knowledge of childcare as well as providing you with all the essential skills you need to work with children.
Once you've completed the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce you'll be in a much better position to get the job you've always dreamed of looking after youngsters under supervision in a nursery, crèche or pre-school.
It takes 12 months to complete course which involves monthly study groups at a training centre local to you where you'll meet like-minded learners and dedicated tutors who'll give you all the personal support you need to succeed.
During the course you'll also study the core skills of English, maths and ICT which will enable you to work confidently and effectively. Level 1 for the three functional skills needs to be achieved along with a Level 2 Award in Employment Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.
You can choose to join a course at a time that it most convenient for you as Smart Training’s courses run throughout the year.
All your work is submitted electronically and assessment is by workplace observations, practical tasks at work, answering questions and report writing.
Training is funded by the Government for learners aged 16-23 who have lived in the UK or European Union for the past three years and don't hold a UK-recognised degree.
