Gah! The future. What happens next?! Here’s how RLSB can help.

Getting a job can be tough and our team want to do something about this. Our free employability programme is tailored to you and what you need, depending on experience and skills.

Come along to our induction session and get to know what we’re about. We’ll give you a run through of our programme of activities to find out which ones you would like to join and what’s best for you at the moment. Together you and a support worker will work through an employability path to find out more about the career you would like and the relevant workshops you can participate in.

Our workshops include:

• Basic skills
• Assistive technology
• CV & career planning
• Building self-confidence
• Goal setting & motivation
• Job search skills
• Teamwork
• Interview skills

We’ll also help you get work experience

During your free 4 month programme, our team will hook you up with work experience with well known companies, getting a real taste of being in a working environment. Previous work experience has been with the NHS Trusts and Transport for London!

During the 4 months you will:

• Meet employers and employment agencies through special organised events and workshops.
• Get to grips with the latest technology including tablets, smart phones and accessible software in our technology sessions.
• Take part in two weeks of work experience with an external employer.
• Receive support from our team of experts in employability to find out what type of job would best suit you, and how to create a plan of how to get that job.
• Regular one to one sessions to develop your cover letters and application forms.
• Brush up on your interview and presentation skills in our employability clubs.
• Get support with your literacy and numeracy skills
